Philadelphia Freedom at the Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel

Certain cities have monikers that stay with them forever. No doubt with Philadelphia PA the moniker of being the City of Brotherly Love and also the home of Freedom for the United States. Being of course that the signing of the Declaration of Independence was written and signed in the city in 1776.

There is so much to do and see in Philadelphia from an attraction stand point the options are endless. That being said, however, we'll start with our featured hotel of the day, the Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel. The Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel is located at 120 17th Street in Philadelphia and is situated within a mile of great historical attractions. What incredible historical attractions might they be? Well how about Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Pavillion (where the Liberty Bell sits) and the incredible Museum District. Flat out you're in the heart of old Philadelphia and within walking steps of some of the best attractions you could ever hope to find in the history of our country.

The Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel is a great hotel for value. Not five star by any means, but well appointed and definitely showing class and quality. Guests will be happy to find onsite restaurant, bar and room service and guess what? If you have a happy furry character that you like to have join you on your trips the Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel is pet friendly. Average room rates have been pegged from anywhere from $150 to $225 a night, but there are various room types that offer upgrades in terms of queen to king sized beds and larger suites.

So make sure you make time to pay homage to the City of Brotherly Love, the City where America was born...Philadelphia.

Music Road Hotel - Pigeon Forge's Great Hotel

I recently spent some time traveling down south in and around Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, and the general area and came across a wonderful area called Pigeon Forge. Pigeon Forge is well known for it's great charming spots and family fun. It has great amusement parks such as Dollywood, the Elvis Museum and one of the most incredible go-kart tracks in the world known as Fast Tracks. Well while popping through the area I stayed at the area famed Music Road Hotel

The Music Road Hotel is one incredible place to find in, dare I say without offending someone, such a simple place on the map. you'd expect to find a hotel like Music Road in areas such as Orlando or Las Vegas, but this place matches the style, quality, fun and attention to service that you'd find, or even better than you'd find in places like Orlando or Las Vegas. From the moment you walk into the lobby you get a feel for an incredible experience. The rooms are oversized and luxurious and right on the property you'll find a large oversized pool that opens to a winding river that every one can enjoy.

Let's get to the point though. Pigeon Forge is a sleepy wonderful place in the middle of the Smoky Mountains and the Music City hotel brings to life this incredible destination. Rooms offer balconies that overlook the river and guests never have to worry about the noise from the streets that many have to worry about in big destinations. What's better is the average rates are about $79 to $150 a night !!!

So if by the Grace of God you were planning a visit to Pigeon Forge and you happily came across this post, or you were looking for a place to go and we talked you into Pigeon Forge, let the Music City Hotel Pigeon Forge be your first and only choice.

The Ice Hotel - Spend a Hot Vacation in a Hotel Made of Ice

For four months every year a wonder of engineering, nature and art converge for one of the greatest attractions to grace the globe...The ICEHOTEL located in Sweden.

Located specifically in the town of JukkasjÀrvi in Sweden and along the Torne River, the ICEHOTEL comes to life in breathtaking fashion. The structure is actually found right inside the Arctic Circle so a sense of surreal vision is the best way to describe this incredible experience. The IceHotel is brought to the world by the Jukkas Company, which is a tourist operator located in Sweden and has been operating since the 1970's. Oddly enough it was the Jukkas Company that actually ran many of the great summer tours for the region. As it usually happens fate stepped in and around the end of the 1980's a member of Jukkas had an epiphany inspired by Japanese ice artists, and so was born the first idea of a commercial igloo to be build. From that point on the interest and hype were there and so to was born a tradition that has such high demand that people from around the globe visit the structure annually.

There are three general types of rooms one can stay when housing up at the Icehotel. The first is the IceHotel Art Suite. The suite offers thermal sleeping bags that are laid on a special bed of snow and on top of that reindeer skins. The soft cloud like cushion is like heaven. Each morning guests are delighted to find hot juice served bed side after which time you head to the full breakfast buffet and the incredibly relaxing hot sauna. The second room type is the IceHotel Ice Room. Guests will find this room comes with furniture sculpted from actual ice and the room appointed with works of art. Last is the IceHotel Snow Room. This is the simplest of all the rooms offered and can house up to 2 to 8 people. So if you're looking to defray costs why not try this option.

The season is unfortunately coming to an end very soon, so if you are interested in taking a trip of a lifetime to the IceHotel be sure to make arrangements very soon.

Mondrian South Beach Miami Hotel - Innovation in Tough Times

Tough times call for "out of the box" thinking and solutions. Sure the phrase and term "out of the box" seems to rub many the wrong way as being on the list of top ten over used cliches, but in reality no other phrase truly captures the essence of innovation and non-conventional thinking. With that being said, the Mondrian South Beach Hotel of Miami is doing just that type of problem solving.

In an attempt to both monetize and service it's customers the hotel has introduced a novel and simple addition to its hotel offerings. The offering, none other than a boutique vending machine of course. Sure, the image of a vending machine in a hotel conjures up images of candy bars, over priced ice cream bars, single packets of aspirin and other necessities and sweet snacks that hardly make one think of a five star hotel.

That's the very point, however, in this epic drama today. The vending machine offered in the Mondrian South Beach Hotel is all about delivering an image of high class. The machines only take plastic for payment and the goods offered don't include the usual vending machine goodies. In this machine you'll find things like 24-karat gold handcuffs, retro Atari Classic video games for the Playstation and top fashion t-shirts.

The move comes in the face of expanding 24 hour retailing with not only avoiding the addition of overhead costs, but actually reducing such direct expense in response to recent trends that have shown a continual decline in hotel gift shop sales.

In the opinion of this writer, moves like this are very exciting and offer the very needed silver lining in an overwhelming cluster of thunder clouds and stormy weather. There is no doubt that many other innovations and non-conventional ideas like this will continue to come to market as the economy responds to the current dire reality. All I have to say is kudos to the Mondrian South Beach Hotel management and decision makers.

Carnegie Hotel - A New York City Boutique Hotel

The Carnegie Hote in New York City is far from a new hotel, but it does have a relatively new owner. The Carnegie is part of the grand portfolio of hotels of the Empire Hotel Group. Situated on West 58th Street and a stones throw from New York City’s famed Central Park, the Carnegie Suite is the standard in New York City Hotels. What makes this hotel so wonderful? Well first and foremost the Carnegie is what is known as a Boutique Hotel. That is a hotel that has very few rooms relative to the market, but in the grand analysis, the Carnegie is a true Boutique Hotel. The property boasts just 20 rooms, but the attention to detail, the unique character of each room, the decor and the overall ambiance is magnifienct. There’s just no other way to describe it.

Check out complete information about reservations and other great amenities you get with the Carnegie Hotel in New York City with the associated link.

Hotel Saint Cecilia - A Great New "Hotel" in Austin Texas

A new hotel has opened in Austin Texas and it is ready to serve the upscale and its called the Hotel Saint Cecilia. This hotel is named after the patron saint of music and poetry and it definitely holds the rights to such imagery. In case I’m not doing a good job of explaining this place, this isn’t a 300 room or suite hotel. This is a secluded mansion that has been turned into an upscale bed and breakfast for lack of a better term. You’ll find five distinct suites, 6 poolside bungalows and 3 studio style rooms.

Every room you encounter is eloquently appointed, it provides a vintage sound system but there is so much more. You’ll find on premises a library that is stacked with vintage vinyl albums to enjoy, or the works, books and writing of great authors and musicians such as Bob Dylan, Glen Friedman and Charlie Ahern. If that isn’t enough the food and drink provided are the topper. Each room is stocked with a unique mini-bar. But this isn’t a mini-bar you’d see at a Hilton Hotel. You get complete unique goods, candy bars and eco-friendly stuff to savor forever.

The Hotel Saint Cecilia is located at $112 Academy Drive in Austin Texas. On average you’re looking to spend about $300 to $550 per night for a stay in any of the above listed accommodations. If you have the money it may be worth a trip to this incredible and eclectic new hotel in the Big State of Texas.

Washington DC Hotels - Catch History in the Making Today

The 2008 United States Presidential Election was history in the making. Today's 24 hour news coverage, the internet and international communication brought this historic event front and center for all, whether you lived in the farthest outpost of Alaska, or the smallest town or village in Mississippi. Politics as usual has been turned on its "proverbial ear", and Washington DC with it.

Millions of people descended on our nations capital for the inauguration of America's first African American President. We find ourselves in dynamic times as Americans. Nation's go through cycles of significant time periods from time to time, and the United States is no different. Today and now is such a time period. Good or bad, history is being made right now. I had a friend that had such an epiphany about America's current state, and subsequently the direct effect on the city of Washington DC.

Not to trivialize the severity or serious nature of the issues facing our country, but taking time to visit our nations capital may never have been more meaningful than it does today. Do yourself a favor, check out the great deals available on Washington DC hotels and find time to visit the worlds seat of power. Visit the White House, visit Congress and the Senate. Take it all in as history is happening in the here and now.

Hilton San Diego Resort - A Great San Diego Hotel

San Diego is by far one of those places on the globe that might be as close to perfect as you're going to get. The weather is very even through out the year, meaning that the seasons really don't change or exhibit drastic swings in temperature or humidity. San Diego has often been referred to as sun drenched and there may be no better description. The city sits along the pacific coast and the sun lightly warms the area.

The Hilton San Diego Resort is the perfect representation of accommodations for an area that is sun kissed and sitting along the beautiful blue Pacific. The Hilton San Diego Resort is located at 1775 East Mission Bay Drive San Diego and offers 357 Rooms on eight floors. What's more the property is located right near the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, the worlds largest instructional waterfront facility for teaching recreation activities such as wake boarding, sailing, surfing and water skiing just to name a few.

The hotel rooms at the Hilton San Diego Resort are newly renovated and have been done up to offer a bright and celebration like effect. Each room has big comfy mattresses and designer furnishings. You can also ask for guest rooms with extended patio guestrooms with fire pits. The property itself offers a bar, restaurant, pool and spa.

This hotel is excellent for your stay in San Diego. Call 1-800-784- 1180 for reservations.

March 12th to March 15th, 2009 are the dates for this years ACC Men's Basketball Championship, so we have some suggestions for some Atlanta Hotels. Especially those that are close in proximity to the Georgia Dome.

The second is the Marriott Suites Midtown Atlanta located at 35 14th Street NW Atlanta. Guest rooms include dataports, hairdryer and coffee maker, while the property offers a bar and restaurant area, pool and gym.  Rates per night for the four days are about $139 plus tax.
