The Ice Hotel - Spend a Hot Vacation in a Hotel Made of Ice

For four months every year a wonder of engineering, nature and art converge for one of the greatest attractions to grace the globe...The ICEHOTEL located in Sweden.

Located specifically in the town of JukkasjÀrvi in Sweden and along the Torne River, the ICEHOTEL comes to life in breathtaking fashion. The structure is actually found right inside the Arctic Circle so a sense of surreal vision is the best way to describe this incredible experience. The IceHotel is brought to the world by the Jukkas Company, which is a tourist operator located in Sweden and has been operating since the 1970's. Oddly enough it was the Jukkas Company that actually ran many of the great summer tours for the region. As it usually happens fate stepped in and around the end of the 1980's a member of Jukkas had an epiphany inspired by Japanese ice artists, and so was born the first idea of a commercial igloo to be build. From that point on the interest and hype were there and so to was born a tradition that has such high demand that people from around the globe visit the structure annually.

There are three general types of rooms one can stay when housing up at the Icehotel. The first is the IceHotel Art Suite. The suite offers thermal sleeping bags that are laid on a special bed of snow and on top of that reindeer skins. The soft cloud like cushion is like heaven. Each morning guests are delighted to find hot juice served bed side after which time you head to the full breakfast buffet and the incredibly relaxing hot sauna. The second room type is the IceHotel Ice Room. Guests will find this room comes with furniture sculpted from actual ice and the room appointed with works of art. Last is the IceHotel Snow Room. This is the simplest of all the rooms offered and can house up to 2 to 8 people. So if you're looking to defray costs why not try this option.

The season is unfortunately coming to an end very soon, so if you are interested in taking a trip of a lifetime to the IceHotel be sure to make arrangements very soon.

Hello,

I am curious how to update my listing on Guide-To-Hotels.com. Much information is incorrect, and the photos are very outdated. I could not see anyway to contact the website other than the 800-number for reservations.

Thanks!
